The Famous Grouse
Distilled In: Perthshire
Average Price (Per Under the Label): $27
Looks like: Gold.
Smells Like: Vibrant and floral, with a good deal of citrus.
Tastes Like: Smooth and fruity; there’s a noticeable lemon rind.
Goes Well With: It’s an old favorite that is good enough to drink by its lonesome. However: the Grouse would be perfect with sharp cheddar or Havarti, for starters, as well as a well-marinated, fatty piece of skirt steak, or something else dry aged. A great cut of meat deserves a classic Scotch. You can always add ice or water, but the Grouse won’t overwhelm your senses too much, so feel free to drink it neat.
