Where: Madison, Wisconsin
When: August 10
If you want killer beer, a perfect-for-summer lake setting, and a wild after party, The Great Taste of the Midwest is the total package. “[There’s] beautiful August weather in Madison, Wisconsin, great beer, and great friends,” says Blue Point Brewery brewmaster, Mike Stoneburg. “After the festival is over, on Sunday morning, [there’s] the obligatory backroads cruise over to New Glarus Brewing with the windows all the way down and the radio all the way up.”
Put together by the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild, the festival features a whopping 190 breweries that represent the best of the Midwest. There are pairings, presentations, and a lineup of different events at nearby bars and breweries on the night before as part of “Great Taste Eve.”
Unfortunately, this year’s festival is already sold out, so keep tabs on the event’s website for 2020 tickets.
