6. Chichibu IPA Cask Finish
Since collaborating with craft breweries is a fairly new concept for whisky distillers, many of the offerings are limited editions. This is true for Chichibu IPA Cask Finish, a whisky made in conjunction with a nearby Japanese craft brewery. Chichibu gives casks to the brewery to age their IPA in, then the casks are returned to the distillery and filled with whisky to rest and mature. During this process, the already spicy whisky becomes even more flavorful. You’ll experience floral notes, slight bitterness, and hints of citrus.
