When pizza’s on the menu, it’s tough to go wrong with a nice, easy-drinking Chianti. Even guys who don’t like this style of wine on its own can’t deny it kicks ass with a traditional red-sauce pie. Even better, it’s typically a great value. Gabbiano’s Cavaliere D’Oro Chianti Classico ($12, cavalieredoro.com) is a very good bottle for the price and goes well with either meaty or meatless pies. If you’re looking for something a bit bolder to pair with pepperoni or sausage pizzas, Selvapiana Chianti Rufina ($18, wine.com) is primo.
