Warm gin may not be the first thing to come to mind when choosing a refreshing cocktail, but this punch, which is served atop Aspen Mountain, made me a believer. Rich, wintery spices, apple cider, and Earl Grey tea complement the spicy, earthiness of gin for a remarkable flavor combo that lingers long after the drink hits your belly. This recipe is light on alcohol and big on hydration, in case you want to imbibe before the day is done.
- 8 parts Hendrick’s gin
- 4 parts Solerno blood orange liqueur
- 4 parts fresh apple cider
- 2 parts earl grey tea
- 1 part fresh lemon juice
- 1 part simple syrup
- Freshly grated nutmeg, anise, and ground all spice to taste
Combine ingredients in a pot and bring to a gentle boil, leave to simmer for 20 minutes. Add hulled, fresh strawberries to garnish and serve hot.
