Turkey Parmesan Burgers

These lean, delicious, and protein-packed sandwiches will be ready to roll in under 30 minutes.

It can be tough to make sure you’re getting balanced macros without driving yourself crazy eating the same old combination of chicken and rice all the time. Fortunately, these turkey parmesean burgers have an almost perfectly balanced macro profile (28g of protein, 25g of carbs, and 23g of fat)—and they’re absolutely loaded with flavor.

Best of all? These burgers take less than 30 minutes to make.

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 6 Tbsp marinara sauce, divided
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • ½ cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 4 whole grain hamburger buns
  • Fresh basil leaves

Mix the turkey, 2 Tbsp marinara sauce, garlic, cheese, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes together in a large bowl. Form the turkey mix into four patties.

Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add the patties.

Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until a thermometer inserted into the center of each patty reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

During the last minute of cooking, add 2 Tbsp shredded cheese on top of each burger. Cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

To serve, place the patties on toasted hamburger buns. Top each patty with 1 Tbsp marinara sauce and a few basil leaves. Then add the top bun and serve.
