Basic Recipe Every Man Should Master: Chili
Chili is so versatile: Substitute beans for meat and make it vegetarian. It tastes great hot or cold; have it on its own or smother hot dogs with it. Chili makes me think of my Uncle Maxwell, who makes his with canned New Mexican Hatch chilies. I adapt his recipe by charring the onions to create a smoky backdrop and adding a big scoop of peanut butter at the end, which creates a Mexican mole effect and makes the chili creamy.
