Hyundai Kona Electric
While Hyundai debuted a new Tucson as well as two new Santa Fe models (and the option of a diesel for the Santa Fe as well), it upstaged all that news with the detail that the Kona will come as an EV as well in 2019 with 250 miles of range. Hyundai says there’s no loss of cargo room in the Kona Electric, vs. the non-EV edition. In other words, this five-door mini-ute will remain an ideal size for buyers with families—or the need for something easy to park in cities, but that’s big enough to haul gear for a weekend camping trip. Hyundai’s piling on potential options for this model, like leather and electric seats as well as HUD and a touchscreen, so we’re not sure on pricing yet. That said, the gasoline Kona runs $20,450.
