How to Play: Time to see who can still toss a disc. Set up the cans about 50 feet apart, and assemble two teams of two. Similar to cornhole, have teammates stand on opposite sides. As far as backyard throwing games go, this one is the most interactive. On any given throw, a thrower can earn up to three points. A player on Team 1 tosses the disc: If his teammate deflects the disc against the can, that’s one point. If the original toss directly hits the can, that’s two points. And if that toss is deflected into the top opening of the can, (a slam dunk of sorts), that’s three points. Games are usually to 21.
Why It’s Awesome: This game gets particularly nail-biting as players try to reach 21 exactly on the nose. Going over will send a team back to 17. Of course, the ace in the hole for any lacking team is the slot in the front of the can. Any throw that sneaks in through that small opening results in an automatic walk-off victory. Find a spot without too much wind, stretch that shoulder, and get tossing.Back to top
