The 2nd Day of Kicksmas: New Balance RC 1400
“Don’t mess it up.” That’s all we ask of shoemakers regarding our favorite footwear. I’m not going to go so far as to say New Balance failed with its subsequent versions of the New Balance RC 1400, but I will say the original model from 2011 is one of the most perfect shoes of all time. It’s among the lightest shoes you’ll tie on, but the heel is fairly thick and tall, which gives me the comfort I need for for everything from a 5K to 26.2-mile races. I still have 6 pairs of them.
