The 8th Day of Kicksmas: Hoka One One Clayton
The Hoka One One Clayton, which launched in 2016, is still one of my favorite shoes. I have three taking up space in my tiny apartment, and that’s because this shoe is too versatile to ditch. Sure, it chewed up some runners’ feet (a weird fit issue created blisters right at the front of the arch), but luckily it never bothered me. And, for that, I’ve been able to get away wearing it for everything from easy, relaxed recovery jogs to long runs when marathon training. Sadly, this shoe only hung around two seasons, and is set to be replaced by the Mach very soon. No matter: You’ll see this shoe on my feet for Sunday long runs, especially when the training schedule calls for progression runs (increasing speed mile by mile).
