The 9th Day of Kicksmas: New Balance 1500v2
Another New Balance shoe cracks my top 12: New Balance 1500v2. I’ve raced in this pair a handful of times since first putting it into service two years ago—a 5K, 10K, and half-marathon. For me, it feels better at longer distances. The sole is thin and firm, but has a little bit of stability to help you maintain your form when you’re wiped out late in races. It also helped me hold a six-minute pace for a 10K in New York City’s Central Park this spring, my first race as a masters runner (over 40 years old). I’m noticing a trend here: I like shoes that help me fly.
