KTM 1290 Super Adventure R
A leader in adventure bikes for many years, KTM has a new flagship in the ADV category. It takes the monstrous 1,301cc V-twin powerplant from the company’s Super Duke R muscle bike, and despite some retuning, is still expected to crank out more than 150 amazing horsepower. The Super Adventure also features a bigger fuel tank, to help extend range, a taller wind screen for comfort, and new side cover vents to manage the heat coming from that powerful engine. While it can really go, this bike also stops incredibly well, with an advanced anti-lock braking system that detects lean angle. This means that even while cornering, the rider can apply the brakes, and the bike will slow down, as much as tire traction will allow. Other electronics include tire pressure monitoring, cruise control and semi-active suspension that adjusts things on the fly, automatically.
