How does 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds sound? Like an eerily quiet, but high-pitched whine, that’s how, with one of the top-performing electric bikes on the market, the American-made Zero SR. The latest version of this sporting motorcycle generates (literally) a whopping 106 foot-pounds of torque, more than many muscle bikes. So it’ll launch hard and go more than 100 miles an hour. Better news for the 2015 model is that it will carry you a claimed 150-plus miles. With the $2,495 Power Tank, it’ll go even further; a claimed 185 miles in the city and 194 on the highway. New, too, are quality Pirelli tires, Showa suspension, and Bosch ABS. An iPhone/Android app connects to the Zero SR via Bluetooth, allowing you to monitor and adjust the bike’s performance. Pricing starts at $17,345.
