Donate to a shelter or rescue center
Whether your nearest and dearest friend eschews any gifts during the holiday season, or the pup is overly pampered and you’re fresh out of ideas, a truly thoughtful statement is to donate to a charity, shelter, or dog rescue in your loved one’s name.
Our social media editor rescued her pup–the spunky Pepper in the Snuggle sack–from Stray From the Heart, which rescues and rehabilitates homeless and stray dogs. Other dog shelters to consider are BARC shelter, Rescue Dogs Rock, Muddy Paws Rescue, New York Bully Crew, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, S.N.O.R.T., and the ASPCA.
