5. Contextual awareness and adaptability
The great thing about Vi is she’s practically a living, breathing trainer glued to your side day-in and day-out (only without the awkwardness), so if it’s monsooning outside or you had a bad case of food poisoning and had to miss a workout, she’s able to adjust your training plan. Because she’s equipped with GPS and can locate where you are in the world, she’ll know when you’re exploring Hawaii instead of putzing around your hometown. If there’s a huge temperature difference, she can suggest a quicker, less intense workout. Furthermore, she can identify when you’re getting complacent or stuck in a running rut. If you’ve been logging the same distance or hitting the same times, Vi can change things up to “surprise” your muscles and challenge your body in a new way. She might suggest an intense sprint session if you’ve been leisurely jogging three-milers all week. It’s this type of contextual adaptability that edges Vi into the realm of personal training—that makes her more than just a piece of hardware.
