Trash the junk.
As satisfying as the crumpling paper sound a file makes on the way to a Mac’s wastepaper basket is, it’s not really gone. The files hang around, sucking up space in case you change your mind, and aren’t deleted until you’ve emptied that bin. Some programs, like iPhoto and Mail have their own trash cans, and you’ll need to empty those, too. Run Disk Cleanup on a PC to chuck temp files, downloaded programs, logs, and empty the Recycle Bin.Back to top
