Arc’teryx Atom LT Hoody ($259)
You have to make some good decisions when picking the clothes you bring on a trip. With car camping, it’s easy to keep adding more as you pack, after all, what’s one more jacket when you can just shove it in your car?
But this always catches up to you on the road, when things are spilling out and you feel disorganized. I’ve had an Arc’teryx Atom LT jacket for years, and it’s my go-to from spring to fall.
It’s a highly breathable jacket that I can throw on for various situations. I slept in the jacket on the coldest night. It has fleece side panels and a plush synthetic insulation on the front and back that is supple and comfy. Luckily it only lightly rained on my trip, but since the Atom LT has a DWR finish, I didn’t have to switch jackets. After years of sporting the Atom LT, I’ve found this jacket just gets better with age.
