Novelties
Novelties are a catch-all category that includes sparklers, snakes, poppers, and little cardboard models that stay on the ground and emit sparks and whistles. Novelties are sold in many states that don’t allow larger and more powerful fireworks.
We recommend:
- Bamboo Sparklers: Buying sparklers made with a bamboo stick instead of metal wire means fewer burned fingers.
- Normandy Lander: Once lit, the lander whistles and sparks shoot from the stern, then a “helicopter” flies off, and a machine gun shoots. At the end, a “landing craft” bursts out.
- Pooping Dog: Snakes are small tablets of chemicals that emit sparks and a long tube-shaped piece of ash as they burn. Pooping Dog consists of a snake-fuel tablet glued to the rear of a cardboard canine. When lit, the dog appears to be defecating while sparks shoot out of his mouth. Classy!
