If you’re commuting on your bike this fall, you’ll want a reliable midlayer that keeps you warm without adding bulk. And once you’re ready to take off your outer jacket, having a sweater that you can wear any place you stop along your route is even better. Chrome Industries thinks you can have it both ways with their new Merino Cobra Full Zip sweater.

Made from merino wool, the Cobra feels soft on your skin, and the fleece wicks away moisture to keep you dry — just as useful for when we trekked through rainy streets in Edinburgh as it was for biking through the countryside in Scotland.

But the material isn’t the only thing that makes this sweater worth the money: It includes thumbholes in the extra long sleeves to keep your hands warm and a key pocket in the right sleeve. A large pocket that spans the lower back securely stored our phone and maps while on a ride, plus a money clip and passport when we were in the London Underground. And on a cool night in the city, it seamlessly transitioned into a regular jacket when paired with jeans and a tee — perfect for the bars. But it’s not a hoodie, you say? Chrome makes that version, too.
