This new cooler backpack from Yeti is a great all-around option. It’s made with high quality in mind, features just enough straps and attachment points, has a comfortable backpack design, and performed fairly well in our ice tests. What more could you want?
First off: I dig the aesthetics. The Hopper has a clean look and the classic blue zipper and gray shell look sharp, whether you’re on the water or at a local music festival.
It’s also durable. I took this thing rafting on the Nantahala River in the Carolina mountains and the HydroLock zipper stayed nice and tight, keeping out water and preserving the chill. Its super-durable DryHide shell denies mold, sheds sharp rocks, and blocks UV rays. It stood up to all that I could throw at it and came out looking like new.
It’s probably the best all-rounder among the bunch, though I wish it offered a zippered or elastic pocket somewhere. It’s at home in the bottom of a canoe, tossed in the back of a side-by-side, or chilling by your beach chair. It sits well on your back thanks to the tall design. All of the components are well-made, well-thought out, and super useful. Can’t go wrong with a Yeti.
