Cobalt Q-6 Slope Golf RangefinderGET IT
If you feel like your golf game has officially hit a plateau, don’t immediately feel like you need to change up your equipment. Many of us blame the clubs, balls, shoes, or even the glove, yet many times the problem is not in your gear. The problem may lie with how you read the course. And if you’ve never played a round with a high-quality rangefinder, then you need to check out the latest and greatest from Cobalt: The Q-6 Slope Rangefinder.
This thing gives you precise distance to the pin no matter where you find yourself on the course—and it even accounts for slope. (Yep, you heard that right.) It boasts an ultra-bright and adjustable Brilliant Projection Display for optimal vision even in the bright sun, it’s waterproof, and it’s built lightweight and tough with its aluminum housing and magnesium chassis. It feels so solid in-hand with its comfortable rubber grip, but still only weighs a mere 10.6 ounces. You can toggle between yards and meters, it features a 600-plus yard distance range (and a 5-yard minimum range), and it claims to be accurate to roughly 1.5 feet from up to 300 yards away. It utilizes PinSense and Surge technologies that isolate the pin from background noise, ultimately filtering out obstructions and eliminating false readings.
Needless to say, we had high expectations before giving this rangefinder a real shot on the course… and it did not disappoint. (Course markers got nothing on this tool.) It also claims to pump out 2,000 range cycles on one single battery. As mentioned above, this just might be the small tweak to your game that’ll shave those pesky strokes off your scorecard. Having the power to read the course accurately is just as important as gearing up with the best hardware.—Jon Perino, senior editor
