Boogie Board Jot 4.5 Featuring Clearview
All of Boogie Board’s eWriters are a blast to use — as a kids tablet should be. You can scribble and sketch on their LCD screen with a stylus, or even your nail (the surface responds to anything somewhat pointy), and then erase the page with the press of a button. The new Jot 4.5 takes a kid-centric gadget and adds a pinch of education. Unlike the black surface in most Boogie Boards, this version of the Jot has a translucent panel, so they can practice handwriting — and fine-tune their fine motor skills by tracing the numbers and letters on the included cards or any image that fits under the screen. Its also a mess-free doodling device, with no papers to crumple up and no pens and markers to leave uncapped. The translucent Jot 4.5 will be out in July. [$20; myboogieboard.com]
