Spring marathon season is approaching. And while hopefully the hardest part of your prep-work (i.e., training to run 26.2 miles for the last four months) is over, now it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to bring along with you for the ride. Because, trust us, the last thing you want to do is realize that you forgot your shorts (or socks, or shoes), or you can’t find your favorite gels the day before the big race.
“I like to make sure everything I absolutely need on race day, such as my flats and my uniform, are with me, in my carry-on, when I board the plane,” says pro marathoner Ryan Hall, who is gearing up to run the Asics LA Marathon on March 15 and has had to deal with a lost checked bag several times, like when he landed in London for the Olympics.
