Cold water surfing demands gear serious enough to hold up to the rigors placed upon those who partake in it. Hypothermia is a reality and cold water surfers need their gear to keep them protected.
British-based cold water surf company Finisterre has dedicated themselves for years to creating gear for those committed to the chasing the harsher climates of surfing. Their latest collaboration aims to put the ultimate shoes on the feet of these devoted souls to help them endure the elements.
Teaming up with Vans, the collaboration takes two Vans Classics silhouettes, the Authentic ($99) and the Chukka ($112), and the new UltraRange Hi ($125) and places the tremendous benefits of the MTE line features, as well as improving upon them.
Features like sherpa lining, heat-reflective insoles and water-repellent paneling are small, yet effective additions needed to a shoe for cold water pursuits.

“Finisterre and Vans share a love of the sea and a passion for great product,” Finisterre founder Tom Kay said in a press release. “So the result of our partnership is a collection that’s designed to get you out there, on the road and enduring the elements. We’re excited to see the adventures they’re taken on.”
Available in select Vans European retailers, as well as at all Finisterre locations and online at Finisterre.com and Vans.Eu, these are a perfect winter surf shoe.
