Our Favorite Gear Brands Are Already Using Pantone’s Color of the Year

Next year, everything’s gonna be purple.

That’s the prediction that Pantone, the company that studies color trends worldwide, made on Thursday when it announced its color of the year for 2018: a vibrant hue of the regal color called Ultra Violet. (For the design nerds and graphic artists out there, the Pantone color code is 18-3838.)

In an interview with The New York Times, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, called it “the most complex of all colors, because it takes two shades that are seemingly diametrically opposed—blue and red—and brings them together to create something new.”

But you don’t have to wait until 2018 to add a little Ultra Violet to your life. Some of our favorite gear makers, from Nike to Snow Peak to The North Face and beyond are already using it in their regular product lines. Below, nine products that will put you ahead of the trend.
