Rivian R1T
You’ve probably already heard about Rivian R1T, the first all-electric pickup truck with a whopping 400+ mile range that’s scheduled to hit the road some time next year. This is the first time we’ve seen one in person, and we were impressed with its gear-hauling chops. and 5’ bed. Behind the cab, a massive lockable tunnel can hold 350 liters of climbing ropes and rack, snowboards, fishing poles and waders, bike helmets and pads, or camping gear.
Rivian says it’s also making a pull-out kitchen module that slides into that spot. A watertight, integrated bed cover and a 200-liter sealed bin under the bed can store a full-size spare tire, too. In the bed, there’s a place to plug in your electric cooler, as well as integrated locking cables to keep bicycles and other gear from wandering, backed up by a bed camera that lets you know if someone is messing with your stuff.
Telescoping racks attach to the roof, rails, and floor of the truck to hold roof boxes, rooftop tents, and more. It’s kind of like a Toyota Tundra on serious steroids. You get all the things you already love about your truck, plus the ability to drive through water three feet deep, adjustable suspension equally good for highway driving and rock crawling, and an engine that goes from zero to 60 mph in three seconds.
