1. Everything starts with you—what you want and your body needs
Helix is a relative newcomer. Launched two years ago, the company takes a scientific and personalized approach to sleep.
“The same suit, diet, and exercise regimen will hardly ever work for everybody, and we think the same for mattresses,” says Helix co-founder Adam Tishman. “We thought, ‘How do we get the best bed to you that doesn’t require you to be a mattress expert—or make any compromises?'”
Helix offers its customers a sleep quiz to blend your subjective preferences—whether you like your bed soft or firm, for example—with sleep ergonomics to find the best mattress for your wants and needs. Other factors: Tossing and turning, your primary sleep position (back, side, stomach), whether you get hot (or even sweat through the sheets), how much pain you feel in the morning, and how well you currently sleep.
