Salewa Ortles Hybrid TWC Jacket
Wool insulation has come a long way. And Salewa’s Ortles Hybrid TWC is a great example of how good it can be. The jacket uses 60-grams of TirolWool Celliant, a wool from high-altitude Dolomite’s sheep treated with a mineral that increases oxygenation in the body, according to the FDA. It’s in an abrasion and wind-resistant nylon jacket with stretchy underarm and side inserts. The close-fitting jacket is an insulation layer built for climbing, but it’ll also work great for Nordic skiers, fatbikers, and anyone else who is highly active in the outdoors. And the insulation is not only way warmer than you’d think, but it feels pliable and soft inside the baffles.
