From the side, the FT-1 looks a bit like a seriously souped-up Scion FR-S, but as you make your way around it, you’ll discover the most radical-looking car at the Detroit show.
With a Formula One-inspired cockpit, lens-free LED headlights, and a rear spoiler that vanishes into a back end that looks like something painted by a graffiti artist, the car earns its acronym, which stands for Future Toyota.
The car had many at the show talking about the old tuner-beloved Supra, but it reportedly takes design cues from even further back: The wraparound windshield is from the 1960s 2000GT.
Unlike the other concepts, you actually can drive the FT-1 . . . by downloading it in ‘Grand Turismo 6.’Back to top
