Volvo Concept XC Coupe
The next iteration of the Concept Coupe that Volvo showed at the Frankfurt Auto Show last September, the Concept XC Coupe carries forward many of the same design elements. It has the sideways LED daytime running lights, the horizontal grille, and the crazy wide (and long) hood, which – incidentally – allows for more of those crash safety features for which Volvo is so well known.
Volvo claims the design was inspired by modern sports equipment, which explains the built-in gear rack on the roof. It also explains why Volvo marketing flacks refer to the “adventure zone” when they talk about where the car can take drivers (if, of course, they actually made the car).
