Thermonet by Buff
Long a favorite of ski junkies and fishermen, Buff’s multifunctional headwear is deceptively simple—it’s honestly just a seamless tube of fabric—but endlessly useful. On my colder climbs, I was especially impressed by the new Buff Thermonet. Thinner and easier to breathe through than the thick fleece balaclavas I’ve used in the past, the Thermonet was still surprisingly good at retaining warmth. It didn’t freeze even when the mercury plunged below zero and I started breathing through it.
