Yamaha Tracer 900 GT
This 2019 sport touring model, due out in the second half of this year, is no doubt aimed at road riding, and not for dirt. But its styling and upright ergonomics certainly do draw from the ADV world, and all that American asphalt provides plenty of adventure anyway. The powerful, torquey 847cc, three-cylinder engine in the new Tracer 900 GT is derived from Yamaha’s MT-07 naked street bike and boasts a similar snarl of an exhaust note. The engine character and feel can be changed electronically with the push of a button. Electronic traction-control can be adjusted, too, for the rider’s taste, plus there’s a quick-shifter for rapid, clutch-less upshifts, and cruise control for the wide-open stretches. A light, aluminum frame, fully adjustable suspension, and powerful anti-lock brakes mean the chassis is just as sophisticated as the engine.
