Best for Seeing the Slopes
Proton Senior Ski
The Proton helmet’s visor might seem like a gimmick, but once you get in it and enjoy the view — with your peripheral vision left unencumbered — you’ll think twice about going back to goggles. The helmet is light and comfortable and comes with a few neat tricks: the buckle is easy to adjust even with gloves on and the visor flips up easily to let your eyes adjust inside. If the visor isn’t for you (speedsters will note the wind can get under the glass, making your eyes water; their Bellagio model aims to take care of this), there is a goggle strap holder in the back of the helmet, so you can replace the visor with your regular goggles for faster runs or on a windy day.
