Nissan GT-R LM Nismo
This is one of the biggest shockers Nissan has ever produced. It’s a race car so contrarian that it boggles the mind. The engine is positioned at the front of the vehicle, rather than at the rear, where it is on every other racer that this vehicle will compete with. It also has front-wheel drive rather than rear-wheel drive — unheard in the upper echelons of racing where the GT-R LM Nismo will compete. The reason for this layout, Nissan engineers say, is because it allows for superior aerodynamics and greater energy regeneration through the car’s braking system, among other benefits. Nissan is gearing up to run the GT-R LM Nismo at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance this summer.
