Oris Big Crown Pointer Date
There was no shortage of pilot’s watches at Baselworld 2018, but one of the strongest showings came in the form of Oris’s Big Crown Pointer Date. It’s a reintroduction of a style originally produced in 1938, and its name is pretty direct: instead of a date window, this model features a red-tipped fourth hand that points to the days of the month, which are listed around the edge of the dial. Both the 36 mm and 40 mm versions of this watch feature luminous cathedral hands and an interesting font choice for the indices, but the larger one, seen here, offers the dial in a really attractive shade of blue. It comes on a multilink bracelet or a vegetable tanned leather strap.
