Bike commuting is booming. In 2013, there were 882,198 bike commuters, and bike share programs are now appearing in major cities — New York, Minneapolis, San Francisco, and Houston, to name a few — with many more slated to jump on board soon.
But without the correct gear, what started as a noble endeavor can turn into a dystopian hell. To find the best gear for a successful commute, we turned to lifelong cyclist Ryan Van Duzer of Duzer TV for advice — he once rode a three-speed cruiser bike across the United States.
