Electric bike maker Zero unveiled two new additions to its lineup at AIMExpo, one being the supermoto style FXS. It might look like a dirt bike, but it’s primarily for carving tight canyon roads and paved tracks in quiet but very quick fashion. Loads of torque (70 lb-ft, says Zero) propel this sub-300-pounder forward in a big hurry. That thrust comes from Zero’s new Z-Force 75-5 interior permanent magnet motor that makes power more efficiently while cooling more rapidly. And top-flight tires, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIs, improve grip and handling. A new fast-charge accessory, that works with Level 2 public chargers, makes it three times as speedy to get back on the road for more fun. And the FXS starts at just $8,495. The ZF6.5 version, adding another $2,495, extends city range from 45 to 90 miles and lowers 0-to-60 mph time to an impressive 3.8 seconds, Zero claims.
