Ducati Panigale 1299
Ducati has a long history of upping their superbike game, and EICMA offered the Italian brand yet another occasion for a numerical leap. Fresh off the heels of the 1098, 1198, and 1199 comes the Panigale 1299, an angry rager of a bike that produces 205 horsepower and features a new electronically adaptive suspension system and an ABS sensor that fine tunes brake force using lean angle calculations. The 1299’s displacement is too big for World Superbike Racing, which led Ducati to the logical conclusion of building and selling another smaller-engined bike for the sole purposes of race homologation. It’s right-brain decisions like those that remind us why we’re big fans of those crazy guys from Bologna.
