Honda offered a sneak peek of its next-generation Ridgeline pickup, due out later this year, and the sketches look promising. Most noticeable in the design is the appearance, when compared to the current Ridgeline, of a more streamlined and conventional pickup than its crossover predecessor. Honda says the next Ridgeline offers “completely new styling that communicates unmistakably that it’s a pickup, yet with a uniquely Honda flair.” Gone is the cab-to-bed buttress, replaced, instead by what appears to be a full-sized cargo bed. Also new is a four-door configuration, not to mention split tailgate — although its final configuration has yet to be set.
