Rolls Royce’s 1907 Tour of India
Automotive PR stunts aren’t exclusive to the Internet age. At the turn of the 20th century, British businessman Frank Norbury drove a 1907 Rolls Royce (pictured) 620 miles across the Indian Ghat Mountains with no tool kit to prove the motorcar’s prowess and to break into India’s market. That seems more badass — and more effective — than proving that a car can flip or pull an airplane.
