Letting your partner take the fall and clean up your mistakes instead of owning up doesn’t make you look like a source of safety and security, it just makes you look like an ass. “Yes, you have to make sacrifices in a relationship, and she might’ve desired to sacrifice her reputation to protect his,” DiDonato says. “But if his reputation is more important than doing the right thing for his girlfriend, he has already lost either way.”
