2. Sasquatch! Festival
When and Where: May 23-25; at The Gorge in Quincy, Washington
Headliners: The National; Queens of the Stone Age; M.I.A.
Best of the A-List: Violent Femmes; City and Colour; Bob Mould
Ins and Outs: The Gorge amphitheater, where the Sasquatch! Festival takes place, might as well be its own headlining act. Overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, the venue has ample amphitheater-style and lawn seating; and is without a doubt one of the prettier locations on this list. The 2013 Sasquatch! sold out in an ungodly 90 minutes, so this year, be vigilant; very vigilant. Note: Festival organizers originally had a second weekend planned in July, but they recently cancelled it due to soft sales. So be sure to buy tickets that actually exist, if you get them second-hand!
Insider Information: If you’re feeling adventurous and have a nice chunk of money to burn, buy a special 1-weekend pass, which includes accommodations in a fully-furnished yurt (basically, a Mongolian tent-house) for $6,500. There’s also a $5,000, furnished safari-tent option, too.
Ticket Information: 1-weekend pass ($325); May/July 2-weekend pass ($550); VIP 1-weekend pass ($900); VIP 2-weekend pass ($1,700)
