Harrison Ford, The Fugitive
Sure, he shaves it part of the way through the film, revealing the clean-shaven Harrison Ford familiar to viewers the world over. But the beard adorning Ford’s face as he plays a man wrongly accused of murder in the early scenes of this 1993 film makes for a compelling illustration of his character’s evolution. It gives a sense of the comfortable life out of which he is forced, and also represents an aspect of that character that must be removed for the reluctant hero to slowly emerge.
