When it comes to your hair, you’re a pomade pro. You’re not so bad at beard trimming either. But for most guys, grooming stops where the clothing begins. Your feet? They don’t even make your Top-10 list of personal hygiene concerns. “Most guys delay seeing a podiatrist for their foot problems,” says Jeffrey DeSantis, DPM, a podiatrist at Cambridge Foot & Ankle Associates in Orange, CA. “When they finally come in, it’s either because they are in serious pain or their wife forced them to get treatment.” In fact, despite 77 percent of men suffering from some kind of foot ailment, only 36 percent ask for a doctor’s help according to a nationwide survey. But there’s more riding on proper foot care than just, you know, a case of gangrene: Another poll finds that two in three women will not go on a second date with a man who has nasty feet.
