If you are legitimately stuck sitting for long periods of time, don’t take that shit without putting up a fight. Research from the University of Missouri found that fidgeting while sitting can help prevent the arterial dysfunction thought to contribute to vascular disease. In other words, tap your toes, move your feet around, and extend and bend your legs. Fidgeting may not be the best substitute for other forms of exercise, but some movement is better than no movement at all.
