Hit the Stairs
When your hourly alarm goes off, notifying you it’s time to start moving, head to the nearest set of stairs. According to new research from McMaster University, vigorous stair-climbing is an effective way to improve cardiovascular health, and it requires almost no time commitment at all. In fact, just 60 seconds of vigorous stair-climbing abutted by a lower-intensity warm-up and cool-down was all it took for study participants to see improvements by the end of the study period. Plus, so few people take the stairs that you’re unlikely to get strange looks from your co-workers.
