There are two rules for eating during an ultra: Do it consistently and frequently. To do this, you need to find foods that work for you that you’ll be able to eat every 20 to 30 minutes while execerising. You want carbohydrates coming in at this interval and you want a combination of sports food (Clif bars, shots, etc) and regular foods. Jurke likes a Clif shot block or other easily digestible foods with solid foods like rice balls or a burrito.
