5. Alonzo had to prep the ‘Bright’ stunts in record time
Normally, Alonzo has about six to eight weeks to prepare for a film, but with Bright he had to “dive in head-first”. Because the project needed a replacement at stunt coordinator, Alonzo had just two weeks to prepare for the shoot, including some scenes he directed for the second unit.
“I’ve never done a movie with that minimal amount of prep,” Alonzo said. “But working with David was such a great blessing, because we collaborated really well together. The cast—Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry, everyone—was fantastic. This was probably one of the hardest projects I’ve had to do because of the minimal prep time and working lots of nights and consecutive days in a row. But it was a joy working with David, and seeing everyone from the top all the way to the bottom give everything they had on it.”Back to top
