For those in the throes of marathon training, or anyone who’s achy after a workout, you may find an antidote in green-tea extract.

 

 

Brazilian scientists gave a group of men a 500mg capsule between back-to-back days of exercise, then did blood work, which revealed lower markers for muscle damage and oxidative stress and improved neuromuscular activity when compared to the placebo group, probably because of green tea’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
